• Notes for MARNO TOWNS. Marno Towns was adopted into the Towns family as a young girl. One can suppose that after a run of 5 sons, Reuben and Edna decided to adopt rather than continue to hope for a boy. Birth name was Margo Rose Bleakney. .
Marno Towns was raised in the Killarney area, and later moved to Winnipeg. In Winnipeg, she met Al Culcheski and they were eventually married. (AL was a player of note with the St. Vital bulldogs football team at one time).
Al was involved in the fast food business for many years, initially with A & W, and transfers took the family to several locations, including Montreal in the early 1960's. They eventually returned to Winnipeg and opened a quick order restaurant on Bridge? Street. Eventually the family moved to Saskatoon and it is believed that they operated a Pancake House, possibly a franchise?? Marno was also involved in business on her own and was involved in several ventures over the years.
They retired to Vancouver; activity is currently underway to update personal family data.
Marno married Al Culcheski.
