bullet  Noted events in his life were:

• Notes for VINCENT REUBEN TOWNS. Vincent Reuben Towns was raised on the family farm in the Holmfield area and attended Enterprise school for grades 1-8.

Vincent married Charlotte Lougheed and they started married life living on the old Reuben Towns farm, later renting the Orville Towns farm in the same general area. Children Terry, Greg, Norman and Rod were all born in the Killarney Hospital and lived on the Orville Towns farm.

Vince and Charlotte engaged in general farming. They had cattle, some of which were milked, a large garden, and cereal crops in the fields. Vincent worked the land with a Fordson Major tractor and used custom combining services for harvesting the crops.
(George Towns and his boys provided this service on several occasions).

Winter forage for the cattle was often provided through a haying agreement with another farmer, wherein they produced the hay from Vince's 'property' and gave him 2/3 of the hay, keeping 1/3 for their equipment, expense and labor.

Vince and Charlotte separated approximately late 1967-1968 and he moved west eventually settling in the Calgary area. Little is known of his life during this period until his death. He remained apart from his family and Charlotte essentially raised the four boys on her own, doing a commendable job of which she was justifiably proud. The obituary notice for Vincent was published in the Killarney Guide, issue of 24 March, 2001. "The death of Reuben Vincent Towns occurred on March 7,2001 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary. He suffered many health problems and was finally admitted to The Foothills Hospital and later transferred to Peter Lougheed Hospital where he was in The Intensive Care Unit until the time of his death. This is the first loss in the Towns family of five sons and one daughter. A funeral service was held in the hospital Chapel. Many nurses attended as well as relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place, with interment being held later at the family plot in Killarney Cemetery".

Little is known of his final days except that he spent considerable time in hospital, was bedridden for a considerable period and apparently required oxygen support. It is known that brothers George and Orville were in contact with him several times over the last months and Orville visited him in hospital a few weeks before he passed away. Sons Rod and Terry also visited their father while in hospital.

Vincent's ashes were interred in the plot at Killarney occupied by his father, Reuben Towns.
