With regard to our Special Service Package and most all SSP mustangs that have been re-discovered and restored it's like this... They are like a pound dog that when found you know you have a good one and they are appreciative (along with the other collectors and SSP restorer's). The SSP Mustang people refer to the term SAVE because these cars more often than not become dedicated drag cars.... raced, wrecked and forgotten. Our car was on that path when I found it. GT40P heads and a thumper cam and a huge hood scoop!
But the basic car was intact and ALL the Buck tags were still on the car along with the partial build sheet found under the carpet behind the drivers seat.
Our 1985 California Highway Patrol Mustang is restored to (in service) condition as it appeared in the fleet and street! No light bar was used on the car so a red colored A pillar spot light was used to get your attention to get you to pull over and off the road.
The SSP Mustang community has been very helpful and supportive in the restoration and documentation of this car. All are Ford guys, Mustang guys and current or former Police guys that want to see these cars preserved. If they see that you have put the wrong things on or in the car they will tell you about it? all good!
