Mike and Michelle's '67 Coupe

Mike and Michelle were looking for another project 3 years ago after their other 1967 Mustang caught on fire. This car was found on E-Bay; it came from Universal Studios in Los Angeles after having been used in many movies and amassing an interesting history.

The original engine was a 6 cyl 200 which just wasn't going to do it for power. A rare 302 block with 351 Windsor heads and cam was found in Twin Falls and was rebuilt along with the C-4 automatic transmission.

While the engine was out, the front end was replaced with a new grab-a-track suspension and was lowered two inches. A 9 inch rear end with POSI was installed along with new rear leaf springs. Air shocks were installed to give the car the correct ride height for the big American Racing Torque wheels and tires.

Other additions included a new fuel tank, braided fuel lines, rebuilt brakes and new lines as well as undercoating. A complete new wiring harness from Painless was installed as well.

Installation of the engine required new custom motor mounts as well as a new C-4 mounting brace. Custom, ceramic coated headers complete the engine compartment. Boise Muffler installed a 2 3/4 inch dual exhaust with turbo mufflers to give it a sweet muscle sound.

For a "one off" look, a ground effects kit and front spoiler from Mustangs Plus were installed. CJ's Auto Body installed the ground effects kit and laid down a two tone paint job of deep metallic blue and dark charcoal gray. The paint job has a two layer mystique additive and hand painted pin striping to set off and bring the two colors together. In the direct sun, the metallic flake sets off a variety of colors depending on the reflections.

Finally, the interior was dressed out with custom upholstery with embossed ponies pressed into the seat backs.

This car may not be in the movies anymore but, like many an aged actor or actress, it has made quite a comeback!
