This GT-500KR is #03227 in the Shelby American World Registry. It is Wimbledon White in color with an all original Saddle interior. It spent all of its life in Montana until the Spring of 1998. It was originally sold from Bison Motors in Great Falls, Montana. In about 1970, the engine was blown and the car was smashed into a snowbank. A 390 was installed to replace the blown engine, keeping the original valve covers, intake, etc. from the 428 Cobra Jet. The front end was repaired by placing the nose of a '67 Shelby on the car. In 1972, it sold to the next owner, who kept the car until 1998. In 1986, he replaced the engine with a correct date code 428 Cobra Jet and completely rebuilt the cars drive train and suspension. It had 52,000 miles on it at that time.
In the Spring of 1998, he had the car restored with a '68 nose and a fresh paint job. A Lt. Col. at Mountain Home Air Force Base bought it and brought it to Idaho. We bought the car from him in January 1999. The car now has almost 60,000 miles on it, and we plan to make some more restoration fixes to the car as parts are found and funds are available.
